Sharon Sanchez is the Director of the Office of Grants and Recognitions in the Northside Independent School District (NISD). She oversees preparation of competitive and federal entitlement grants, conducts compliance monitoring and program reporting and serves as the NISD liaison for private nonprofit schools participating in the ESSA programs. Sharon also leads initiatives for NISD staff and program recognitions and supports the Northside Education Foundation by implementing and facilitating the foundation’s grant-making program for the entire district.
Her background includes over 25 years of extensive grant experience and 23 years with federal programs.
She has been a member of ACET since 2002, in which she has served as Regional Director for Region 20, Secretary, President-Elect, President, Past President, the Elections Chair and and is a NAFEPA Representative, is a member of the Scholarship, Executive Council, the Past Presidents, and Program Planning Committees. Sharon earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Texas at San Antonio.
Sharon has been married for 23 years, has two beautiful daughters and a beloved Schnoodle! She enjoys running, being outdoors, podcasts, reading, and spending time with her family and friends.
