Welcome to Region 19’s Blog: Unlike Anywhere Else!

Region 19 located in El Paso, also known as the Paso del Norte, the Pass of the North, and Sun City, is rich in culture and history where we serve approximately 160,000 students. El Paso is home to the 1966 Texas Western Miners, NCAA Champions, who were led by Hall of Fame coach Don Haskins “The Bear”. This championship created waves as the team was largely comprised of African American players and which the movie Glory Road was then inspired. El Paso has an iconic giant star located on the Transmountain that is lit up every evening. The star is symbolic for the Lone Star State. Also, known for being a border city, it has the second busiest crossing in the U.S.
