Paraprofessionals Scholarship Application

Dear Paraprofessional Applicant:

The Association for Compensatory Educators of Texas (ACET) is an association of school administrators and teachers who work in programs across the state designed to support students who historically have a more difficult time in school due to language, economic and other barriers.  Our Association offers four $1,000 scholarships to paraprofessionals who are currently working in a compensatory education program and do not currently hold a bachelor’s degree.  Applicants must be pursuing a degree and teacher certification. Compensatory Education includes programs such as Title I, Bilingual/ESL, State Compensatory Education (SCE), Migrant, and Homeless.

Thank you for your interest in the 2023-2024 ACET Student Scholarship. Eligible applicants must submit a completed application via the registration link no later than Friday, February 16, 2024.  No portion or signature may be omitted. No FAX applications will be accepted and applications sent directly to the ACET Scholarship Committee Chair will be ineligible. You may access an electronic template of the application below. The application includes a copy of the narrative scoring rubric and a scoring grid for the components of the application.

All applicants must have documented proof (i.e. diploma, GED Certification, latest college transcript, letters) of employment in a compensatory education program. Compensatory programs provide additional assistance and support for students who have difficulty in school.  Programs include classes or services a school provides for migrant, Title I, Bilingual/ ESL, and pregnant or parenting students.

Thank you for your interest.

Sincerely,

Camie Holcombe

ACET Scholarship Committee Chair
