Call for Nominations of ACET Officers

ACET Members,

We need YOUR help.  The ACET Nomination Committee needs your help in creating a slate of officer nominees to be presented for election at the 2022 ACET Fall Conference this October in sunny Corpus Christi!    At our Fall 2022 conference, we will elect five (5) ACET officers who will navigate our organization in the post-COVID sea of ESSER, ESSA, and data validations.  Nominations are requested for the following five (5) offices:

  • President-Elect
  • Vice President for Membership
  • Secretary
  • Treasurer
  • The National Association of Federal Education Program Administrators (NAFEPA) Representative

A description of each office and qualifications are listed below.

To nominate an ACET member for a specific office, please complete this brief Fall 2022 ACET Fall Officer Nomination Form  Responses are limited to one per member.  The deadline to submit nominations (via this form) is Friday, October 7th by 4:30 p.m. You are not required to submit a nominee for each office.  For example, if you only want to nominate a candidate for President-Elect, you can leave the other fields blank.  Nomination forms are accessible on any device with Wifi (including phones). Chrome is the preferred browser, however, nominations can be submitted on any browser.

During this conference, even-numbered regions will also hold elections for Regional Director and Alternate.  These elections will take place during the regional meetings and are NOT included on this Nomination Form. NOMINATIONS REQUESTED FOR ACET OFFICES FOR ELECTION

(FALL 2022 CONFERENCE)

President-Elect 

Qualifications:  To be eligible to run for the office of President-Elect, the nominee MUST meet the following eligibility criteria:

  1. Must be a member of ACET for at least two years. AND
  2. Must have served for at least two full years in one or more of the following positions:  Regional Director, Secretary, Vice-President of Membership, Treasurer, a Standing Committee Chairperson, or served as a member of the Program Planning Committee.  

 Duties: The ACET President-Elect shall preside in the absence of the President at all meetings of the Association or the Executive Council and shall perform such duties as may be delegated by the President and the Executive Council. The President-Elect shall have the primary responsibility for planning, coordinating, and implementing conferences for the Association with the approval of the Executive Council. In case the President is unable to serve his/her term, the President-Elect will assume all duties of the President in addition to his/her duties as President-Elect.  The newly elected President-Elect will serve a three-year consecutive service term: a one-year term as President-Elect, followed by a one-year term as President, and then a one-year term as  Immediate Past President.

ACET Vice-President of Membership Nomination  

Qualifications: To be eligible to run for the office of Vice-President of Membership, the nominee MUST be a member of ACET for at least two years.

Duties: The Vice-President for Membership shall be responsible for recruiting new members, promoting the retention of current members and disseminating a list of the membership to the officers. Additionally the Vice-President for Membership shall be responsible for securing facilitators for conference sessions and for conference evaluations.   This office is elected for a two-year term in even-numbered years.

ACET Secretary Nomination  

Qualifications: To be eligible to run for the office of Secretary, the nominee MUST be a member of ACET for at least two years.   This office is held for a two-year term.

Duties:  The Secretary shall keep accurate written records of the proceeding of all business meetings of the Association and the Executive Council. These records shall include but are not limited to the minutes, agendas and correspondence. After approval by the members of the Executive Council, all records will be filed with the Executive Director for inclusion in the permanent files of the organization. Copies of minutes must be provided to the President within two weeks after the meeting date.

ACET  Treasurer Nomination  

Qualifications: To be eligible to run for the office of Treasurer, the nominee MUST be a member of ACET for at least two years.

 Duties:   The Treasurer shall work cooperatively with the Executive Director in the receiving and  disbursing of all monies, keeping an accurate accounting of the Association’s funds, and filing  all necessary documents with the Internal Revenue Service.  In addition,  the Treasurer will monitor the  Association’s fund balance to assure that it does not fall below  $150.000.    With the assistance of the  Executive  Director, he/she shall assure that  an annual audit of the organization’s finances is conducted and that the results of the audit are presented to the membership by October of each year.

ACET  NAFEPA Representative Nomination

Note: In the Fall 2022 Conference, only one NAFEPA representative is being elected.

Qualifications:  To be eligible to run for the office of ACET's National Association of Federal Education Program Administrators (NAFEPA)  Representative, the nominee MUST meet the following eligibility criteria:

  1. Must be a member of ACET for at least two years AND
  2. Must have served for at least two full years in one or more of the following positions:  Regional Director, Secretary, Treasurer Vice-President of Membership, Standing Committee Chairperson, or served as a member of the Program Planning Committee. AND
  3. MUST have served as ACET President.

Duties:  Two NAFEPA Representatives are elected to represent ACET.  The focus of NAFEPA Representative positions is to provide continuity with the NAFEPA Board and to help build capacity for our organization on the NAFEPA Board. The positions will fill the positions that ACET has on the NAFEPA Board. The representatives elected must have served as an ACET President. The NAFEPA representatives shall serve staggered three-year terms.
