President's Message

2010 President’s Message:

Thank you for visiting the ACET website!  I hope that you will find useful information to help you stay informed regarding the work of our Association through the organization’s committees and Executive Council.  You will also find links to state and federal websites which are of interest to our membership.  Please visit us often as we will continue to add new content to the website throughout the year.

Our Program Planning committee, under the direction of President-Elect, John Emerich, is currently in the process of designing an outstanding conference for the Spring ACET conference which will be March 31 – April 2, 2010, at the Renaissance Hotel in Austin.  Our theme is "ACCEPT THE CHALLENGE!  IMPACT THE FUTURE!”  We have many changes coming our way via state and federal legislation and it is imperative that we all stay as informed  and proactively positive through these challenges.

ACET is an excellent organization to interact with members from other districts regarding state and federal programs.  The ACET Hospitality Hour at the end of the first day of the conference (Wednesday, March 31^st) is a casual event where one can network with colleagues.

We welcome participation of ACET members. If you are interested in helping with the conference in any way (greeting registrants at the Registration Booth, facilitating a break-out session, helping attendees locate hotel meeting rooms, etc.) please contact Vice President for Membership, Shelley McDowell, at smcdowell@northlamar.net

We desire to honor our retiring members, so if you (or someone you know) will be retiring and would like to be recognized during the conference, please submit that information as soon as possible to our Awards Chairperson, Vickie Ansley at Vickie.ansley@esc16.net
