President’s Message

Welcome to the new ACET website!  I hope that you will find some useful information and stay informed regarding the work of our Association, various committees and the Executive Council.  Please visit the site often as we will be adding new content much more frequently than in the past.

Our Program Planning committee, under the direction of President-Elect, Craig Henderson, is currently in the process of designing a terrific conference which will be October 28-30 at the Westin Galleria in Houston.  Our theme this fall is “Dedicated to Excellence”.  Please be aware that we again will be having the ACET Hospitality Hour Tuesday evening after the first day of the conference.  Please join us for our event where you can network with your colleagues to talk about your dinner and/or shopping plans.

 Proposed topics by presenters will allow the theme to be realized. Samples of proposed concurrent sessions include:

 Data to Improve Learning, Campus Planning, Interventions and Strategies, State Comp Ed and NCLB Requirements, Needs Assessment, Inclusion for All, and numerous more.

 Our ACET conference details are as follows:

 When:        October 28 - 30, 2008

 Who:    Federal Program Directors, Administrators, Parent Involvement Specialists, Evaluators, Curriculum and Instructional Specialists, or anyone who works with compensatory programs or other programs dealing with students in at-risk situations

 Time:        Pre-conference Academies begin October 28, 2008 at 9:00 am

First concurrent session begins on October 28, 2008 at 2:30 pm
